Bonnie Hunter update

Hello all, Mary Ellen here.

I think we have made a very good choice for this fall’s seminar teacher. I have probably received 25 or so inquiries from non-members who are interested in taking a class from Bonnie this fall. They are finding the contact information in Bonnie’s calendar at quiltville.com. A couple of them are planning road trips with friends from distances away (Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Canada). I hope you’ll be joining us too.

Bonnie just finished up a teaching segment in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at A Mountain Quiltfest. Here’s a link to a slide show she posted from her Boxy Stars class. (click here) The students look like they are having fun, and their blocks are great looking. Bonnie will be teaching the Boxy Stars class for us on Wednesday of seminar.

Marija has just finished up rounding up our cadre of local teachers for the fall, and I am finalizing the typing of the brochure to get it to the printer. We will have the brochures at the table in the member area during our upcoming quilt show. Those members who do not attend the quilt show will receive their brochure in the mail shortly thereafter. Members will have a head start on registration; we’ll open it up to non-members in early May.

Please join us at the quilt show, and surely you’ll find something you like for fall seminar!

So happy to hear of all the interest so early. I have a feeling this is going to be a popular event. I know I myself can’t wait!! As I am sure you’re eager to no longer having to hear me ask “is it time to sign up yet?”.

I am so excited about this. I have been following your blog and Bonnie for a while, recently relocated from Schenectady to Clarence Center and will be able to participate.

  3. I have attended many seminars in the past, but was unable to go last year. Do you know if I will still receive an application form? Can you tell me when the online information will be posted? Thanks Mary Ellen – you do a great job on this blog.

Hi Irene and Barbara,Non-members are definitely invited to join us! We have not yet begun the registration process. We will be handing out the info to the members of our guild in April and registration for non-members begins in May. The information, and printable forms, will be available on our guild’s web page (www.amqg.org) probably by April 5 or so. We have just finished the process of lining up the local teachers who will also be teaching each day, and are finalizing the brochure to get it to the printer. If you attend our guild’s quilt show (April 11-13) at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (same location as Bonnie’s classes), you’ll be able to pick up the brochure there.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

  4. I’m also looking forward to taking a class with Bonnie – I’ll be coming from Castile, NY. I’ve been stalking your blog for months to see when the registration will open and I’m thrilled that it’s very soon 🙂

We'd love to hear from you. Leave us a note.
